Hi, I'm Richard - a researcher and public policy expert dedicated to exploring the complexities of trust, leadership, and governance in higher education and beyond.

I grew up in Southern Virginia as a first-generation college student, which shaped my commitment to understanding and supporting the systems that support learners like me.

 

My journey has taken me from the classrooms of rural Virginia to the halls of America's public research universities, where I've dedicated my career to studying how social institutions of all types build, sustain, and restore trust during times of crisis and transformation. ​​
